Logistics coordinator

Since December 2010 I have been working for AVH dairy trade and share the responsibility for logistics. From the moment a deal has been closed I keep track on the order until it reaches our customer. If transporters or customers have any questions they can ask me.

My position at AVH matches my education and working experience perfectly. I studied Economics and Linguistics at the Hogeschool in Alkmaar and worked at offices of several international companies which I liked very much doing. It gives something extra when you  work with people from all over the world. I also enjoy learning new languages. Having an Austrian father and a Dutch mother I grew up in two different cultures and was taught how to speak two languages which proves to be very helpful in learning new ones. Today I am fluent in Dutch, German and English and I can understand French and Spanish quite easily. I also would like to continue my interpreter-translator training in Russian again. If AVH will try to gain access to the Russian market, well, then I am prepared.

I feel at home at AVH. From the very first day, the company and I have been a perfect match. People here are highly motivated and enthusiastic which is very catching. There is also a lot of personal attention, frequently small evaluation meetings are held. Arnauld is very much against stressful situations and he is very successful in realising this! At the office the atmosphere is relaxed and positive. Paying  attention, whether it is  to our customers or to our colleagues, is an important aspect of our company’s culture. We take our time when talking to our customers and try to answer all their questions to the best of our ability and if they ask for the impossible we can tell them, something which is quite new for me. In my former jobs the customer was always in the right, even when he was not, actually.

The dairy market is rather new for me. Before working for AVH I had tasted goat cheese only once. Nowadays goat and sheep cheese are the only ones I eat. I think it is very valuable that AVH trades in organic products. I love animals very much and I think it is important that they are properly cared for. Moreover, I am convinced that eating products of animals that had a good life is good for one’s own.
